Wayne Janus is a veteran of more than 35 years in the financial services industry. With a fiercely competitive mindset and a passion for exceeding client expectations, he provides personal financial and tax planning for a wide range of individuals, including senior executives, affluent business owners, law firm partners, retirees and families of deceased clients.
Wayne helps clients to maximize the tax benefits of charitable gifts, to find creative ways to fund college education for children and grandchildren, and to plan for their retirement needs, such as evaluating the tax implications of residing in other states.
Before joining Whitnell, he was Chairman of JMG Financial Group, Ltd., an Oak Brook-based company he founded in 1984. Prior to JMG Financial, he was a Tax Principal with Arthur Young & Co. In that role, he oversaw executive programs and provided personal financial planning services to officers of numerous publicly held Chicago-based companies.
He attended DePaul University, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting as well as a Master of Science Degree in Taxation.
Wayne currently serves as a member of the finance committee for Make a Wish Foundation of Illinois. He also serves on the Rush University Medical Center Neurosciences Leadership Committee. He has been director of the Great Lakes Real Estate Investment Trust and a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council. He has also served on high school boards and endowment funds.
